crossen
Zurich, Switzerland
privacy@crossen.app
2. What data we collect
When you join the waitlist, we collect:
- your email address
- optional details: gender, age bracket, region, smartphone type (iPhone or Android)
- your optional feedback about dating apps
- language and displayed page variant (to evaluate our campaigns)
No tracking cookies are set. Only your language preference and the displayed page variant are stored in your browser's local storage.
3. Purpose
We use your details solely to inform you about the launch of crossen and to evaluate interest in the app in anonymised form. Your data is never sold or shared with third parties for advertising.
4. Legal basis
Processing is based on your consent (Art. 6 Swiss FADP; where applicable Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR). You may withdraw your consent at any time.
5. Hosting and retention
This site and the waitlist data are hosted with Cloudflare, Inc. Data may be processed on servers outside Switzerland; Cloudflare ensures an adequate level of data protection through appropriate contractual clauses. We use Cloudflare Turnstile to protect the form against abuse. We keep your details until the app launches or until you withdraw, at most 24 months.
6. Data security
We protect your data through encrypted transmission (TLS/HTTPS) and through access restrictions to our systems at Cloudflare.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct and delete your data and to withdraw your consent at any time. Contact us at privacy@crossen.app. You may also lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
8. Data breaches
If we detect a data breach that is likely to result in a high risk to you, we will inform you as quickly as possible. We report serious breaches to the FDPIC in accordance with Art. 24 Swiss FADP.
9. Minors
crossen is intended exclusively for people aged 18 or over; the waitlist is not directed at minors. If we become aware that a minor has signed up, we will delete their details.
10. Data processing in the crossen app
The crossen app is not yet available. This section describes data processing from the app's launch; details on the app's server infrastructure will be added before launch. The app is governed by its ownterms of use.
Account and profile. For your account we process your e-mail address, one-time sign-in codes (stored only as a verification value, valid for 10 minutes) and your signed-in devices (technical device key, last sign-in). We use Resend, Inc. (USA) as a processor to deliver sign-in and account e-mails. Your profile comprises your first name, date of birth (to verify the 18+ requirement; others see at most your age or an age bracket), a short text and up to six photos. Your profile becomes visible to others only in the moments described in the app — on a recap card, with an interest you sent, and in a match.
Encounters.During a session you start, your device sends and receives random, regularly changing identifiers via Bluetooth — no names and no location data. Received sightings and sessions are each stored for 7 days; encounters computed from them for at most 45 days. Moment markers are deleted when the evening recap is created; at most a coarse time of day ("in the evening") remains.
Location and private places. The app uses your location only if you set private places — and evaluates it exclusively on your device. Your private places and your location are never transmitted to servers.
Interest, chat and notifications.Your interest note is seen only by the receiving person; if an interest is not accepted, the note is deleted after it lapses. Chat messages remain stored for as long as the accounts involved exist. For push notifications we store the technical device address (push token); the notification itself never contains personal data — it always reads the same.
Reports, blocks and account deletion. If you report content, we preserve it as of the time of the report for review. Blocks are permanent and are never disclosed to the other person. If you delete your account, it immediately becomes invisible to others; after 30 days your data is permanently deleted. For safety reasons, reports, moderation actions and blocks are retained beyond that. Within the 30 days you can contact support@crossen.app to restore your account.
